Emerson is 1!

I am attempting to post this blog through email so if it's messed up that is why.

We had Emerson's 1st birthday party last weekend, and had a great time. The weather was gorgeous which was quite a contrast from the day of tornadoes before. It's hard to believe she is already a year old. Time has gone by way too quickly. Not much has changed though since she still hasn't a single tooth and refuses to even attempt to walk. I'm fine with her not walking for the time being since when she does I will have two kids going in two different directions.

She ate the whole thing, no surprise!

Today, we are headed over to Tuscaloosa to celebrate Alex's (chips nephew) 15th birthday. It's raining of course since we have plans but we will still have a great time. I'm looking forward to going to New Way (I think) to look for a book to read or another devotion book since I get chastised for looking ahead in my daily devotion. Haha.

I am super excited about going to the Extraordinary Women's conference in a couple of weeks in Birmingham. Jeremy Camp and Mark Schultz who are two of my favorite singers are going to be there. I love love love Mark Schultz. His song Love Has Come is currently my all time favorite. It's a great song. Karen Kingsbury will also be there and she's a great writer. I'm going by myself because nobody else wanted to go. Normally I wouldn't go to something like that by myself but I really want to go so I decided why not I'll go anyway. There should definitely be an interesting update after that because I'm sure I'll get lost 20 times or so given my horrible sense of direction. Hm maybe Callie should post on her blog that I need a roomie for the conference hahaha. Her blog certainly gets more readers!

I guess I am finished with this update. There are supposed to be pictures but I'm not sure they worked since I'm technically impaired. If there are enjoy them if not oh well! Haha

I'm alive..

It was brought to my attention that I've not updated my blog in 4 months. That is mostly bc I haven't had anything interesting happen lately. McKenzie ate two pennies this morning because "they were really yummy, mommy" or so she said anyway. The weather has really messed up all my weekend plans. Tonight I was going to Relay for Life to walk with a friend of mine. Of course it has rained and rained and rained so that was cancelled. I really hated for it to be cancelled because of the importance of them walking. I think it's something great they can do to honor the memory of the ones they lost. I especially hated it for the Survivors who beat the darn disease! We also planned to do the March of Dimes walk in Tuscaloosa in the morning which will probably be rained out as well. Emerson's 1st birthday was planned for Saturday afternoon and it has now been moved to Sunday. I love the rain, but really, on the ONE weekend I had things planned? Because of the rain, I did get to go to the school play at Immanuel. The kids did a great job. Then I went to a great friend's house where we talked until 1am...crazy! Sooo past my bedtime. She is awesome though and she let me talk (too much) and she was gracious enough to be my counselor for the night even though she says she's not qualified. Haha. I will ask that you say a prayer for those who have lost someone they loved. It's easy to think of them right after the loss, but even years afterwards they need encouragement and love and someone to listen. It may not be so present in your mind but they still carry the sadness and the scars. Don't take for granted being able to pick up the phone and call your Mom to talk about absolutely nothing if you want. Every girl needs to hear she's beautiful but not everyone still has that someone to tell them that. That's all my mushy stuff for tonight. It's 2:40am and it's a miracle i'm still functioning.

For my friend, you are beautiful and I love you :-)

"Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful; for beauty is God's handwriting -- a wayside sacrament. Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower, and thank God for it as a cup of blessing." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
